13SICK provides After Hours medical care to patients across Australia through Telehealth and Home Visits. Telehealth consultations are available at 13SICK when a home visiting Doctor is unavailable in your area or if you prefer Telehealth to a home visit.
What are the benefits of Telehealth?
Telehealth consultations are a great way to connect quickly to a Doctor when you need Medical advice or care. We have a team of Doctors at 13SICK available throughout the night and weekend to speak to you over Telehealth if you need us.
Telehealth will never replace the need for a visit to your GP but provides the convenience to consult with a Doctor from home if you are in a remote area, need advice or cannot access a GP due to illness which prevents you from leaving the home (COVID for example).
What are the most common reasons for Telehealth consultations at 13SICK?
The commonest reasons patients book a Telehealth consultation include:
- Patients with COVID or influenza who cannot leave the home but want to speak to a Doctor
- Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)
- Coughs and colds
- Minor injuries and falls
- Mental health consultations
Which services are available through Telehealth at 13SICK?
13SICK has built a fantastic software platform which connects you to the Doctor quickly and easily. Bulk Billed Telehealth consultations can provide:
- Medical Consultations with Qualified Australian Doctors through video or a phone call
- Prescriptions – we can send eScripts directly to your phone which you can use at any pharmacy
- Investigations (if necessary). We are mindful that we are an After Hours Medical Service and it Is technically more difficult to follow up Investigations which is why we recommend seeing your GP if you need tests
- Medical Certificates – we can issue a Medical Cert during the consult if the Doctor feels it is necessary
Which services are not available through Telehealth at 13SICK?
We are unable to provide the following services through 13SICK:
- Private Medical Reports
- Taxi and other medical assessments
- Routine medical care – please book with your regular GP
When can I access a Bulk Billed Telehealth consultation at 13SICK?
13SICK is an After Hours Medical service which operates at the following times:
Monday – Friday: 6pm – 8am
Saturday: Before 8am and any time after 12pm
Sunday: All day
Public Holidays: All day
Who is eligible for a Bulk Billed Telehealth Consultation?
You are eligible for a Bulk Billed telehealth consultation with 13SICK if you have a Medicare card, are making a booking at the times listed above and meet any of the following criteria:
- You have attended one of the 3500 GP clinics in the past 12 months that we service
- Your medical problem is ‘Urgent’
- Your background is ATSI
- You are at risk of homelessness
Your booking is about any of the following:
- Sexual Health
- Mental Health
- COVID
How do I book a Telehealth consultation at 13SICK
You can book an Telehealth appointment online during our operating hours (see above). Please have your Medicare card available at the time of booking so that the consultation can be Bulk Billed if you are eligible.
