Over 10,000,000 consults and over 4000 subscribed GP clinics
Call 000 if it is an emergency, for example if you are experiencing chest pain, shortness of breath, numbness or weakness in any part of your body.
Do you know that you don’t have to book a telehealth appointment in advance at 13SICK?
When you or someone in your household wakes up with a high fever in the middle of the night and your GP isn’t available, you don’t have to set a telehealth Dr appointment for when clinics open. We make it easy for you and your family to access an online healthcare service after hours, right when you need it.
With over 30 years of experience in healthcare, we connect you to top-notch medical care across the country outside conventional hours. So, you don’t need to worry about how to book a telehealth appointment with us because we don’t require appointments. Instead, you just have to send a real-time request for an after hours medical consultation. Here’s how:
As Australia’s largest and most trusted network for after hours medical services, we at 13SICK are here to offer an alternative to a virtual GP appointment when your GP isn’t available. Our Doctors attend to urgent but non-life-threatening issues but for critical conditions or emergencies; however, you should always call 000 or head to an emergency department right away.
Patients looking for telehealth AU-wide can start by completing our online request form. Select your medical concern from the provided categories and add any additional details in the designated space. This helps your Doctor provide you with the most accurate and helpful advice or follow-up care. You’ll also have the option to choose between a video call, text chat or phone call for your consultation.
Just like when you book a telehealth appointment with GPs that accept Medicare, you’ll need to verify your personal information when submitting a request to consult with 13SICK. Your Medicare card or Gold DVA card can be used to quickly verify your details.
When sending a request for our telehealth services, having a Medicare or DVA card also means that you may be eligible for bulk billing. This allows us 13SICK to fully charge the costs of medical services, such as when you request a consultation session, to Medicare, so you can prioritise getting the care you need without worrying about the cost.
13SICK accepts bulk billing for both telehealth consultations and home visits (available for select locations only).
Once your information is verified, you can quickly send a real-time booking request for a telehealth Medicare-eligible consultation. We’ll then provide you with an estimated wait time for your consultation, so you can gauge when your session will begin.
To prepare for the session, it’s helpful to note down your symptoms and any important medical history. Depending on the symptoms and your medical history, the Doctor may deem it necessary to provide you with telehealth prescriptions, referrals, Carer’s certificates or medical certificates so that you can proceed with the next steps for your urgent healthcare plan.
Yes, there are GPs who allow you to book a telehealth appointment with them even if you’re in an aged care facility. However, if your GP isn’t available, sending a real-time request to 13SICK is a good after hours alternative.
In addition to those in aged care facilities, our telehealth services are also available to those in residences and families in need of urgent medical care consultations who may have issues with travelling for in-person visits.
Our Doctors can consult with you so you can get quality care without leaving your home or aged care facility. If they deem it necessary, they can also make referrals or issue a medical certificate or telehealth script.
Typically, you’ll need to provide some basic personal details, like your name, date of birth and, if applicable, your Medicare card number. You’ll likely be asked for this information, whether you need to book a telehealth appointment with your regular Doctor or request a session from 13SICK.
At 13SICK, we specialise in after hours services so you can access our telehealth consultations from Monday to Friday from 6.00 pm until 8.00 am the next day and from 12.00 pm to 8.00 am on Saturdays. We are available 24 hours a day on Sundays and holidays.
When it’s late at night and you can’t access a telehealth GP appointment, 13SICK is the alternative you can turn to. 13SICK provides virtual health consultation services that connect patients with licenced Doctors, ensuring peace of mind without the stress of having to travel anywhere.
You no longer need to book a telehealth appointment at a clinic and wait until the next day for your session. You can experience quality after hours care instead, thanks to 13SICK’s telehealth services. On top of after hours telehealth care, we also offer the option for a home visit consultation.
